estimation of genetic parameters and trend of somatic cell score trait using test day records in iranian holstein cows
Authors
abstract
the objective of this research was to estimate the genetic parameters and trend of somatic cell count in holstein cows of iran using test day records. the phenotypic the used data consisted of were consisting of 407167 first lactation test day records the which were collected by the center of animal breeding and livestock production improvement center of iran during 2009 to 2013. somatic cell count was transformed to somatic cell score using logarithm transformation method. the genetic parameters were estimated using random regression models with bayesian statistical method based on gibbs sampling. the results revealed that the observed trend for additive genetic variance and permanent environmental were similar high in early lactation compared to other days. the heritability was estimated between 0.023-0.065 for somatic cell score. repeatability showed highest changes at the start and the end of lactation. additive genetic correlations were estimated for days 5 and 305. the result showed high variation in genetic trend of somatic cell score in different years, without an specific trend.

full textEstimation of Genetic Parameters for Milk Production Trait in Holstein Cows of the Mazandaran Gavdasht Herd Using Test Day Records
Random regression models (RRM) are used for genetic estimations of milk traits in dairy cows. RRM utilize data on traits that are repeated during the time, such as milk trait, which allows of the evaluation of the test day production information. In this study, to estimate genetic parameters for milk production trait, test day records (TDR) were collected from the first lactation of Holstein co...

In this study test-day records of milk (kg), fat (g), and protein (g) yields, somatic cell score (SCS, cells/ML) collected by Animal Breeding Center of Iran during 2007 and 2009 were used to estimate genetic parameters using random regression model. Models with different order of Legendre polynomials were compared using Bayesian information criterion (BIC).For milk, fat yield and SCS genetic an...

full textestimation of genetic parameters and trend for somatic cell score trait in iranian holsteins using a random regression test day model
in this study, a total of 101,147 monthly test day records of somatic cell count collected from 13,977 first lactation holstein cows (in 183 herds) calved between 2002 and 2006 were used. for the genetic analysis, a random regression test day model was utilized. somatic cell score (scs) was calculated based on natural logarithm of somatic cell count. in the model, fixed effect of contemporary g...
